Barbara was taught by her father (Stanley Pryor, a former member of the New York State Assembly)  to give back to her community. She is a member of the Local Chamber of Commerce,  the Queens Chamber of Commerce and is an active participant in the Long Island Business Development Group. She is a  member of the Association of Real Estate Women (serving on the Board of its Charitable Fund) and is President of the Board of Trustees for the Queens Council on the Arts.
